The beauty is believed to have said that although she has met Weinstein before, as well as potential witness and Weinstein accuser Salma Hayek, she can still judge the case impartially and without prejudice.

Hadid, who has more than 51 million Instagram followers, was mobbed by photographers as she left the courthouse and left in a black SUV.

"Hadid, seated about 20 feet away from Weinstein, told Judge Burke that she'd met the defendant before but still felt she could judge the case impartially".

Harvey Weinstein has been denied his request for a new judge to oversee his NY trial for r*pe and s*xual assault.

Dozens of other potential jurors were excused after saying they could not be impartial, without providing a reason.

Weinstein's criminal trial opened last Monday in Manhattan, and after jury selection is completed could last two months.

Hadid, who lives in Manhattan and studied criminal psychology at The New School, was among 35 potential jurors asked to return to court Thursday for additional questioning. Those charges accuse him of raping one woman and sexually assaulting another woman there on back-to-back nights in 2013, days before he walked the Oscars with his then-wife, fashion designer Georgina Chapman, who was pregnant at the time.

Weinstein, once one of Hollywood's most powerful producers, made his mark with critically acclaimed films such as The English Patient and Shakespeare in Love. Hadid is also known to be a friend of Cara Delevingne, who also has gone public with accusations of sexual harassment against Weinstein and talked about the #MeToo movement.

Burke said on Monday that 108 out of 360 potential jurors summoned last week passed pre-screening.

"The rapist is you". The chants were heard in the 15th floor courtroom, prompting Weinstein's lawyers to ask that all the potential jurors present be dismissed.

On Jan 6, as the NY trial began, Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey announced new sexual assault charges against Weinstein.
