In all, 134 games were run over the nonstop seven-day event.

Speedruns weren't the only records being broken at this year's Awesome Games Done Quick, which raised a grand total of $3,133,898.56. Next year's Awesome Games Done Quick will be held on the week of January 3 to 10, 2021, with the location still to be decided.

The speedrunners themselves are masters of the games they choose to play, drilling their favorites to perfection and then experimenting with different ways to shave off more time. They've now raised over $25 million in total, going primarily to Doctors Without Borders and Prevent Cancer Foundation, but also AbleGamers, Organization for Autism Research and others.

The event's previous record for donations came during 2019's Summer Games Done Quick event, where the community was able to raise just over $3 million. This run featured the use of a special Crowd Control Twitch extension, which allowed viewers to donate Twitch Bits in order to either assist or troll runner Andy during his playthrough.

One interesting notion is that Untitled Goose Game was among the debutantes for any GDQ event. SGDQ 2020 will take place in Bloomington, Minnesota from June 21st to June 28th, while Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 will be happening from January 3rd to the 10th. A few events have dipped here and there, but it continues to trend upward.

Highlights from Awesome Game Done Quick's gaming marathon is available on its official youtube channel, along with videos from the previous years. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years.
