Roger Federer's face to be sculpted in Swiss currency

In a recent development, the Swiss government has announced that it has minted a 20 franc silver coin with Swiss Tennis icon Roger Federer's image imprinted on it.

The Swiss government has made a decision to honor Roger Federer with the special award, producing produce a commemorative 20 franc silver coin with Federer's image on it.

According to the statement, Swissmint will issue a 20-franc "Roger Federer" silver coin on January 23, 2020, and a gold coin in May 2020.

In a statement, the Swiss Government said Federer is the best-known Swiss person both on and off the court.

The government added that Federer is "probably Switzerland's most successful individual sportsman".

"The flawless ambassador for Switzerland".

"In addition to his sporting brilliance, Roger Federer is above all the ideal ambassador for Switzerland", Bern, Switzerland-based Swissmint, which is responsible for the minting of Swiss coins, said in a statement. The coins are available for purchase on Swissmint's web shop through December 19 or until the 55,000 units are sold.

Proof-quality coins will only be available from the issue date onwards.

Earlier this year, commemorative coins were dedicated to the Apollo 11 moon landing and the centenary of the Circus Knie.
