Netflix first announced the collaboration with Parton in 2018.

Dolly took to Instagram to reveal that her songs have been reimagined as eight stories for a new Netflix series called Heartstrings.

The new show is set to premiere on November 22.

"Songs, they're just stories put to music", Parton says, introducing the trailer. In her long, fruitful career, Dolly has recorded an array of hits including two-time chart-topper "I Will Always Love You", "Jolene", "Coat of Many Colours" and "9 to 5".

Dolly recently told Entertainment Tonight about casting for the series, in which she plays a mysterious character called "Babe", saying she hoped her goddaughter Miley Cyrus would play Jolene.

Of course, Cyrus and Parton have a great relationship - Dolly Parton is her godmother, for one, and they've performed the song on more than a few high-profile occasions. Every trial, every struggle, every smile, every sorrow.
