His reception at the showdown between Louisiana State and Alabama contrasted with the scene at Game 5 of the World Series in Washington, where was booed, and the mixed response to his appearance at a martial arts fight in NY.

President Donald Trump was overwhelmingly cheered by the crowd at the Alabama Crimson Tide vs LSU game this afternoon in Tuscaloosa.

At the game, Mr. Trump sat in a box with first lady Melania Trump and several prominent Alabama lawmakers, including Senator Richard Shelby and Congressman Bradley Byrne. But there were more pro-Trump signs. There were flags emblazoned with "Trump 2020" and banners that read: "Keep America Great Trump 2020".

Both loud boos and cheers could be heard as Trump took his seat before the recent UFC bout at Madison Square Garden.

Political strategist Guy Cecil ridiculed former Attorney General Jeff Sessions' Senate campaign announcement video Friday, suggesting he was acting like a hostage to President Trump. He attended a rally in Monroe, Louisiana, on Wednesday and he'll be back in the state this coming week, two days before Louisiana voters have their say. Mr. Trump said on Friday that he has not decided if he will endorse a candidate in the race, saying Sessions has a lot of "tough competition". In announcing his support for the president in his first campaign video, Sessions suggests he understands the difficulty of mounting a political comeback in Alabama, where the president's approval rating is higher than anywhere else in the country, without support from the White House.
