Control details post-launch content schedule

12 September 2019

Remedy have officially unveiled their post-launch plans for Control, with two brand new paid expansions and a free DLC pack all being on the roadmap, as well as potential Alan Wake cross-over.

Photo Mode will be the first thing to arrive later this autumn, enabling you to take snapshots in the Oldest House, while Expeditions is due to follow in December. They will add new story missions, teams, enemies and game mechanics, and will take place in new locations within the Oldest House.

Control was well received by both critics and the game community on PS4 alike. In these Expeditions, you will help Security Chief Arish explore a odd Formation and its unusual surroundings.

In 2020, Control fans will get even more content, with two full paid expansions in the form of The Foundation and AWE. Expeditions is an end-game activity that Remedy says will offer the toughest challenge yet for players. The AWE expansion will release on all platforms on the same date.

The Foundation will explore the building's history, with Jesse working to discover what lies beneath the Bureau at the behest of the Board. Today, 505 Games revealed that Control is getting a good bunch of additional content on PS4. The top image looks like the cover of Alan Wake, which features Alan with a flashlight standing in the Washington forest (it looks like the bottom image is one of Control protagonist Jesse Faden fighting the Hiss in the Federal Bureau of Control). AWE is planned for mid-2020, and will introduce Jesse to the Investigations Sector that investigates the chaotic phenomena arising from Altered World Events. Needless to say, things are bound to get pretty freakish when this expansion arrives mid-2020. If you haven't finished Control, spoilers ahead. The second expansion is called AWE, and will deal with investigating Altered World Events. The update is out now on PlayStation 4 and is coming soon to the Xbox One and PC versions.
