"He said he will seek the trust of the House", the Speaker told reporters in Bengaluru.

"I don't want to make any decisions in a haste".

"Today there are many things happening in our state's politics because of the decisions of many MLAs, which has created a hard situation".

The embattled JD (S) leader also said he was ready for everything and that he was not here to cling to power.

The switchover is expected to have repercussions on the current composition of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition government in Goa, with the fresh induction of Congress MLAs already making coalition alliance partner Goa Forward jittery.

He explained, "I need time since if the resignations are accepted, the MLAs' disqualification from the party will be nullified".

Siddaramaiah said it was for the Speaker to fix a date for the floor test. They have come on their own for the development of their constituencies and the state. "There is no procedure for it".

Chacko, in his application, said that a resignation had the same effect as defecting from a party and that the MLAs were "bought or persuaded to resign by payment of enormous sums of money". "Till today we have withstood all their assaults, this time the situation is more serious than previous attempts we concede that but after considering all pros and cons, the chief minister, the deputy chief minister and the ministers have resolved to face it bravely and withstand it unitedly", he added.

The apex court allowed Chacko to be heard as an intervenor in the matter.

The matter has been mentioned before the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court had directed the 10 rebel MLAs of the Congress-JD (S) coalition in Karnataka to meet Speaker Ramesh Kumar at 6 pm and resubmit their resignations.

Kumaraswamy said that the Assembly will discuss several other matters and absent MLAs will be disqualified under the "anti-defection law".

"In a statement, he said instead of putting an alternate structure in place after Rahul quit, "a month was wasted pleading" with him to take back his resignation, which:as a man of honour and integrity, he should not have been pressured to do".

A Chellakumar, All India Congress Committee secretary and the opposition party's Goa in-charge, was sent to the coastal state to take stock of the situation after 10 of the party's MLA's made a decision to join BJP.

The Congress, the JD (S) ally in Karnataka, joined in the protest a little later.

"It is only after such enquiry/process that the satisfaction of the Speaker can be reached", he submitted.
