Microsoft to bring its best auto racing game to Android and iOS

Though the trailer is branded with the Xbox logo, it doesn't appear the game is planned for release on Xbox consoles, reinforcing Microsoft's recent moves to expand the brand towards its overall gaming offerings. Developed by Electric Square and published by Microsoft Studios, Forza Street is a Windows 10 (and soon to be iOS and Android) street racing game.

The Forza series isn't a complete stranger to the realm of free-to-play, but today there's another wrinkle in the franchise's usual timeline: Forza Street. As a result, players can expect 'intense, cinematic races, ' the company said in its announcement. Simply pick an event, choose your auto, and race for fame.

During gameplay, players will be able to both collect and upgrade vehicles, which range from classic muscle cars to retro supercars and modern sports models.

In other words, it looks a lot like other popular mobile racing games, like those in the Asphalt and Need for Speed series. The game is still free-to-play casual game focusing on street races, but the game has pretty nice graphics and weekly new content. "Whether players want to squeeze in a quick one-minute race or get immersed in a story campaign, every race is a chance to earn a performance icon from an ever-growing list of incredible cars, turning your garage into a trophy case". I wouldn't go so far as to call this Forza in name only, but Forza Street isn't the standard experience fans know and love from Motorsport and Horizon.
