Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1660 is available right now for £199

Ever since virtual reality (VR) came back to into focus of consumers there's always been the issue of price. The new GTX 1660 does come in other shapes and sizes, like the dual slot, single fan GTX 1660 StormX OC 6G from Palit which The Guru of 3D reviewed.

It was only a few weeks ago that NVIDIA has launched the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti which has lowered the access price for Turing-based cards.

Even so, thanks to the Turing architecture the new baby of the bunch has been created to improve performance and efficiency over older Pascal models.

As to performance, the GTX 1660 6GB fits nicely in Nvidia's latest lineup and, according to Nvidia, should be 15 percent faster than the GTX 1060 6GB model at 1080p resolution.

NVIDIA claims that the GTX 1660 is an impressive 130% faster than the GTX 960, so if you've got one of those cards in your rig and you've been thinking of upgrading, this might be a good way to get some extra power without going broke.

Just like the GTX 1660 Ti, the new GTX 1660 is also equipped with TU116 GPU which is created to provide a balance between performance, power consumption, and cost.

The GTX 1660 offers similar features to the GTX 1660 Ti in terms of API support, G-Sync compatibility, GPU Boost, and Ansel (photo mode for game screenshots). Pricing starts from £199 and NVIDIA won't be making a Founders Edition of the GPU.
