Gmail gets a new right-click menu

13 February 2019

If you can't see the changes in your Gmail inbox, that's because Google has just started the rollout, so it'll reach your Gmail inbox soon. With the latest addition, users can take more actions directly from a message.

There'll also be options for moving messages to a different folder, or labeling them. Muting conversations will be possible, too. The web version application, however, doesn't really give the same ease-of-use to those who aren't comfortable with shortcuts or depend on mouse or trackpad for navigation. Additionally, users can search for all emails from a sender or, if they have conversation view turned off, search for all emails with the same subject.

Based on your specific release schedule, you may need to wait awhile before the new menu arrives. The feature will initially roll out for G Suite users, and could eventually make its way to regular Gmail users as well. My personal favorite will probably be "Open in a new window". The context menu can be accessed using Ctrl+click on Mac keyboards and menu key on Windows keyboards. In both cases, the Big G says it could take a few days before everyone has been hit up with the update. Scheduled release domains (in which users get features at least a week after they're released publicly) will get the feature beginning February 22. When that happens, however, it'll be a quick deployment.
