George Clooney says Meghan being harassed just like Diana

13 February 2019

"They're just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she's been pursued and vilified", Clooney told Australian magazine WHO.

The actor, who is a friend of the British royal and her husband Prince Harry and attended their royal wedding with his wife Amal last May (18), gave the warning after United Kingdom tabloid the Mail on Sunday published a letter Meghan reportedly wrote to her estranged father, Thomas Markle.

Kensington Palace shared a photo of the royal couple as they arrived.

He said: "They are just so happy".

Prince Charles famously stepped in to walk his daughter-in-law down the aisle, with Meghan said to be heartbroken that her beloved dad couldn't make it to London for her nuptials.

And Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, won't be far behind when it comes to bonding with the future Baby Sussex!

"Daddy, it is with a heavy heart that I write this, not understanding why you have chosen to take this path, turning a blind eye to the pain you are causing", the letter reads.

And after months of remaining silent, Meghan chose to try and squash her father's penchant for speaking out publicly by sending him a handwritten letter, begging him to stop.

"I'm a father of twins, I have enough sh- to deal with - literally!" he joked.

"Women, in particular, are constantly pitted against and compared with each other in a way that reminds me of how people tried to portray Diana and me all the time as rivals, which is something neither of us ever really felt", she writes of Diana, who was married to Prince Charles when she was married to his brother, Prince Andrew. "Please stop victimising me through the media so we can fix our relationship".
