"Game of Thrones": Ser Pounce is dead, so why even keep watching?

13 February 2019

There was the Red Wedding, the Purple Wedding, the battle between the Red Viper and the Mountain (and that result) - and, let's not forget, what happened to Hodor.

The final season of Game of Thrones premieres April 14th. Game of Thrones showrunner David Benioff has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Ser Pounce, Tommen's beloved feline friend, is dead.

He said, "Cersei hated the name "Ser Pounce" so much she could not allow him to survive".

The cat was last shown in season 6, just before Tommen Baratheon (Dean-Charles Chapman) committed suicide over Margaery Tyrell's (Natalie Dormer) death in the Sept of Baelor.

On Tuesday, Lena Headey, the British actress behind the diabolical queen of Westeros on Game of Thrones, put a troll on blast after they had the gall to suggest she no longer post videos of herself without makeup. "Ser Pounce's death was so frightful we couldn't even put it on the air".

GoT costars Emilia Clarke (who plays Daenerys Targaryen) commented "PREACH BEAUTIFUL WOMAN" and Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) posted a bunch of pink hearts. And then Ser Pounce had to suffer an even bigger indignity: an off-screen death.

Fans will not see Ser Pounce in the show anymore, however, Game of Thrones showrunners said the cat will be featured in the upcoming Game of Thrones box set, so you'll be able to watch him again later this year.

"I don't know [what happened to him]". That'd be a tragedy. "I like to think he'd also move on with his life and get a girlfriend maybe".
