Melania discusses Trump's alleged infidelities

12 October 2018

First lady Melania Trump is brushing aside allegations of infidelity on her husband's part, telling ABC News in an exclusive interview that she has no time for what she calls media speculation and gossip.

Donald Trump's alleged affairs were brought into the spotlight this year after former porn star Stormy Daniels said she'd had a sexual relationship with Donald Trump in 2006.

The president has admitted to reimbursing his former attorney Michael Cohen for the payment just ahead of the 2016 election but denies the affair, which Daniels says took place a decade earlier - shortly after the birth of his son with Melania. Mrs. Trump has generally stayed quiet on the subject.

Melania also said there are people now in the White House she doesn't trust and who do not have her husband's best interests in mind.

Her comments came in the latest installment of an interview conducted while Melania Trump was on a solo trip to Africa.

At the time, the first lady's office issued a statement saying she had not spoken to Giuliani about the matter.

Melania Trump has claimed she doesn't care about rumors that Donald cheated with multiple women behind her back.

'It's what media speculate, and its gossip.

She said: 'Media what is speculating, yeah. "It's not always correct stuff", she added in the clip released Friday. "But I know what is right and what is wrong and what is true or not true".

"She believes her husband, and she knows it's untrue", Giuliani said then.

In a preview of the discussion, the first lady is shown defending her work with Be Best for a personal reason: She sees herself as a victim of bullying.
