The Pixel 3 features a 5.5-inch screen and the 3XL has a 6.3-inch screen.
While Google's phones have larger screens, they do look similar to their predecessors except for fully glass backs. After debuting the concept with the Acer Chromebook Tab 10, Google now has its first-party Chrome OS tablet hardware, the Pixel Slate. When you take a photo, it analyses the images just before and just after you press the shutter, looking for those where everyone is smiling, with eyes open, and facing the camera.
The zoom is now aided by a Super Res Zoom feature, which uses computation photography from the world of astronomy and scientific imaging to provide sharper details when you're zooming.
The buy-one-get-one operates in the usual way for carrier deals, which is to say that you don't just give Verizon $799 in cash and get two phones. For selfies, a feature called Group Selfie provides 184% more room in the photo while shooting with the wide-angle camera.More news: Pakistan to start talks with International Monetary Fund as rupee continues to fall
In contrast to the other Android-equipped offerings on the market, the Pixel is seen as a step between Apple's iOS and other flagship phones from competitors like Samsung.
Expected today are the much leaked Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL. Like the Home Hub and Echo Show, you can also watch cooking videos through various services, play music from streaming services, and even blind the device using the included camera cover or the mute button on top of the Portal. It's hassle-free, you don't have to think about back-ups.
Google's Pixel Stand is a different take on the wireless charger, one that can turn your phone into a small smart node. No longer! Optus is getting a piece of the Pixel 3 action, and these are the plans it has on offer. The new Google Home Hub sits alongside the existing Google Home, Google Home Mini and Google Home Max speakers. If you only need it for light usage that makes sense, but that price makes it a not-so-compelling option. The 6.3-inch Pixel 3 XL is now available only in 64GB at the Google Store, priced at $899 or 24 monthly payments of $37.46.
And, importantly, you must select them yourself.More news: Justice Kavanaugh makes low-key Supreme Court debut, after raucous confirmation
The hardware on the Pixel Slate is nothing to sneeze at, with a crisp, high-resolution 3000×2000 screen with 400 nits of peak brightness, a detachable keyboard, and 12 hours of battery life, but the rest of the hardware has a really, really large swing in capabilities. Google has sold an estimated 7 million Pixels over the past two years, nearly imperceptible next to the 3.6 billion phones shipped during that time, according to the research firm International Data Corp.
The Pixel Slate starts at $599 for an Intel Celeron Processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage.
Pixel 3 is IP68 water and dust resistant and has a security chip custom-designed by Google called Titan M, making it the most secure phone the company has built yet. It can, of course, run Android apps. Not to mention that it, too, uses an operating system (OS) that has only recently come up to speed with the demands of mobile professionals.More news: Here's how to order everything Google just announced
