Pokémon news website, Serebii, has revealed some leaks about the upcoming Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! We already knew that Alolan forms of Gen 1 Pokémon will appear in Let's Go, and now thanks to a new trailer and press release, we know that there will also be Mega Evolutions for some Gen 1 creatures too. The images clearly showed Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise in their mega evolutions. In the past, Pokemon needed to hold their respective Mega Stones in order for their Mega Evolution to occur.

There certainly wasn't any Mega Evolution to contend with back then, you just had to grind out levels until you felt you were strong enough to not get trounced by other trainers and Gym Leaders. There is not a whole lot of details about how this will work but it is believed that players will need to have a Mega Stone that matches the Pokemon type to make it Mega Evolve once per battle. The first noteworthy addition is Lt. Surge who will be closer to his anime counterpart as he will be using a Raichu in his team. This includes the most famous members of Team Rocket-Jessie, James, and Meowth!
