Giuliani: 'I want you to hear' Cohen tapes

31 July 2018

Donald Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, on Sunday admitted Donald Trump's former "fixer" Michael Cohen secretly recorded at least 183 conversations-and the president's name is mentioned in "11 or 12".

Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, son Donald Jr., and top campaign official Paul Manafort met at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016 with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, who had said she was offering information from the Russian government aimed at helping Trump to victory.

Hot off his tape proving that Donald Trump knew about the Karen McDougal payoff in advance-which is likely a campaign finance violation-it was reported that the former Trump family lapdog is prepared to testify with some damning tea in the Mueller investigation.

Mr Trump's denial about his knowledge of the meeting comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin said he had invited Mr Trump to Moscow, and that both he and Mr Trump were ready for further summits, but that conditions needed to be right for a meeting to take place.

Half of Republicans say that hearing criticisms of President Trump on the Russian Federation issue makes them want to defend him more.

CNN, citing unidentified sources with knowledge of the matter, said Mr Cohen was willing to make that assertion to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating whether Mr Trump's presidential campaign had worked with Russian Federation to sway the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

"Arrived back in Washington last night from a very emotional reopening of a major U.S. Steel plant in Granite City, Illinois, only to be greeted with the ridiculous news that the highly conflicted Robert Mueller and his gang of 13 Angry Democrats obviously can not find Collusion...", Trump tweeted. Giuliani says that he is now of the opinion that Michael Cohen has lied his whole life.

He similarly told ABC News in early July, "I have no concerns that Michael Cohen is going to do anything but tell the truth". Trump tweeted Friday Cohen was just "trying to make up stories" to distract from his own troubles.

Mr. Giuliani defended his prior comments calling Cohen an "honest, honorable lawyer". The Trump Org CFO also set up a monthly retainer through the company that was used to reimburse Cohen for the $130,000 hush money payment to Stormy Daniels.

"I wish these guys could put down their arms, recognize the longevity of their relationship and stop the backbiting and the infighting", Scaramucci said.

Trump has been seething at Cohen since the recent tape's release, raging to confidants that he could not believe he was being betrayed by someone he worked with for a decade, according to a person familiar with the situation but not authorized to discuss private conversations.

The recording then became unclear and it is not certain whether Trump was suggesting a cash payment or that they should not pay in cash. Christie said that if Cohen wants to make a deal with prosecutors, he may be hurting himself by making claims publicly about Trump.

Giuliani, who had once applauded Cohen for his honesty, was asked about his dramatic change in opinion of Cohen on "Fox News Sunday", and explained, "The man is a pathological manipulator, liar".
