A Tuesday morning auto chase ended a bloody week for a man Texas cops say is a "serial killer", and who's suspected in a series of mid-July murders - including two at mattress stores.
Jose Gilberto Rodriguez, 46, was captured driving a vehicle belonging to one of his victims, police announced in a news conference on Tuesday.
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo told reporters that authorities are trying to determine whether Rodriguez committed other crimes they don't yet know about.
Rodriguez, 46, was taken into custody after a brief vehicle pursuit early Tuesday, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

"Let's get this man off the street as soon as possible", Acevedo said.
A man was found dead inside of a Mattress One store at Crosstimbers and I-45.
Jose Gilberto Rodriguez was charged with capital murder for the deaths of a Cypress woman killed in her home and a man killed at a Matress One store in north Houston.

Rodriguez is accused of two of the killings, Crane said.
A sheriff's deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle around 6:15 a.m., Gonzalez said. Police set out searching for a dark gray Nissan Sentra that was stolen from the scene.
Authorities, who believe Rodriguez was on the hunt for his next victim when he was caught, have not offered details on the evidence allegedly linking him to the crimes. "We can not release all of the details but all these cases we feel have some linkages to each other", Sheriff Gonzalez said. He was paroled in September 2017 after serving 27 years in prison on multiple criminal convictions, including an additional charge while incarcerated. Her body was found after her brother called police to conduct a welfare check because she had not been answering her phone.
Rodriguez is suspected of a crime spree that began July 9 with a home invasion robbery. On Saturday, Johnson's missing PT Cruiser was found about a dozen miles away in the parking lot of Willowbrook Mall. Harris County sheriff's deputies found Pamela Johnson, 62, inside her home Friday in the 2400 block of Bent Pine Drive.
He also said Harris County is looking to form a task force that would focus on parolees who had committed serious crimes. Gonzalez tweeted Monday that Rodriguez is "considered a serial killer". Her manager found her body between two mattresses at the store late Saturday.More news: Alabama college student's 32 km walk to work attracts praise, new car
