Prince Louis christened while beaming royal family look on

13 July 2018

The christening was the first time that the Cambridges have been seen as a family of five, as both Prince George and Princess Charlotte attended their little brother's big day.

In the morning, Queen Elizabeth, Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, and Camilla all attended a service honoring the milestone at Westminster Abbey in London. The event took place inside of St. James's Palace.

He was set to wear the same gown worn by his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

However the Queen, 92, and Prince Philip, 97, were notable absences as it was confirmed that they were unable to attend the christening service due to their busy royal schedules.

The Duke of Sussex reportedly purchased a first edition copy of "Winnie-the-Pooh" by AA Milne for his youngest nephew. While Harry also wore a blue suit and light blue tie, Meghan opted for an olive Ralph Lauren dress with a matching headpiece and Manolo Blanik pumps.

The young prince, who has an older brother George, (4) and sister Charlotte (3) was baptised using water from the River Jordan.

At the christening of William's children, there has usually been a poignant nod to the duke's late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, who was killed in a auto crash in 1997. For her daughter Charlotte's christening on July 5, 2015, Kate wore a attractive white coat by Alexander McQueen and a white fascinator by Jane Taylor - a similar look by the same designers.
