Brock Lesnar’s Return Match Known, Confirmed For Next Month’s ‘SummerSlam’

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that was a purposeful omission that came from the mind of Vince McMahon. Well, it appears as if the fans finally know when he will wrestle next and it is going to be at next month's SummerSlam.

Lesnar is expected to face Cormier inside the Octagon at a later date. What resulted was Lesnar hurling insults and UFC setting up their future championship match in a very pro wrestling-esque way.

Lesnar is now being advertised for the Raw after SummerSlam at the Barclays Center. It's clear there wasn't a lesson learned from that by WWE and they'll continue trying to go to the "loyalty" card to get fans on Roman's side, which seems like a futile effort at this point.

Meanwhile, Diaz also had problems with Cormier for engaging in the melee with Lesnar while also criticizing the new heavyweight champion for his performance against Anderson Silva at UFC 200 back in 2016. Now Reigns will face Bobby Lashley at Extreme Rules but there were no stakes stated yet.

When The Beast drops the main prize on WWE's red brand, another superstar will have to take his place as the top superstar on Monday Night Raw.

All of this aside, Braun Strowman still holds the Money in the Bank briefcase, and a Strowman/Lesnar bout probably makes the absolute most sense. Strowman could announce in advance that he wants to cash-in for a match with Lesnar at SummerSlam, or he could cash-in as a surprise following the match between Lesnar and whoever challenges him as a way of sending the crowd home happy.

The last time the Universal title changed hands was when Brock Lesnar defeated Goldberg at WrestleMania 33. With Brock Lesnar definitely on his way out and heading back to the UFC, the Universal Championship is going to have to change hands and it will likely happen at SummerSlam.
