Jose Muniz, Jose Tavarez, Jonaiki Martinez-Estrella, Daniel Fernandez, Manuel Rivera, and Antonio Hernandez-Santiago face a slew of charges, including murder, gang assault, and manslaughter.
Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, 15, was stabbed outside the Zesarina Grocery store in New York City last week.
Six of the suspects are between the ages of 18 and 24 and were arrested earlier this week in Paterson, New Jersey.
The boy's father was among loved ones wearing Yankees jerseys, a team his son passionately cheered for, CBS News York reports.
"We are gathered here in shock, silence and pain", the Rev. David Guzman said in Spanish.More news: 'Fear The Walking Dead' Caught in Copyright Lawsuit
The suspects appear to be members of the Trinitarios street gang, he said.
The suspected members of the Dominican "Trinitarios" gang are believed to have killed Guzman-Feliz because they misinterpreted his identity for another young man who created a sex tape with one of the gang member's sisters, police sources told the New York Post.
Elvin Garcia was later arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, with fellow suspect Kevin J. Alvarez, 19, also charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, gang assault and assault after handing himself in.
Days later, on June 20, another boy - 15-year-old Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz - was dragged outside a Bronx bodega by a group of men who stabbed him as he struggled to defend himself.
After the attack, he managed to run to nearby Saint Barnabas Hospital, but died before he could reach the emergency room.More news: Director Makes Unexpectedly Bold Statement About Trump's Possible Legacy as President
A NY street gang alleged to have been responsible for the murder of a 15-year-old boy in the Bronx are being blamed for another shocking attack against a teenage boy just days before.
"We will leave no stone unturned", Dermot F. Shea, NYPD chief of detectives, said at a press conference.
"I'd ask the public to reserve judgment", Sappone said. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was held without bail at his arraignment Monday, a Bronx court official said.
Video taken from before and after the incident shows the owner of the bodega refusing to offer refuge or help to Guzman-Feliz, whose blood covered the floor and countertop of the store. "If they could give me the life of my son, I'd be happy".
Guzman-Feliz was a member of the NYPD's Explorers program, a group for youths interested in a law enforcement career. "They did him like an animal, and the people who did this, in my opinion, today, should not get justice at all", mourner Kenneth Kelly said.More news: Japan probe arrives at asteroid after nearly four-year space odyssey
