Trump signs `comprehensive document' with Kim as summit ends

13 June 2018

Kim, dressed in a dark suit, and Trump, sporting a red tie, talked in a corner of the hotel corridor for a few minutes before they walked along the passage into the meeting room and sat down in front of journalists. "But we overcame all of them and we are here today".

"Anyone can make war, but only the most courageous can make peace", Trump continued, stressing he has given up nothing at this point in negotiations.

Giving voice to the anticipation felt around the world as the meeting opened, South Korean President Moon Jae-in said Tuesday he "hardly slept" before the summit. Really very positive. I think better than anybody could have expected. They said it couldn't be done, they scoffed.

Trump responded to such commentary on Twitter, saying: "The fact that I am having a meeting is a major loss for the USA, say the haters & losers".

As per the Guardian, amid the handshakes and photo ops, Trump spoke of the "very comprehensive" agreement that would "take care of a very big and very risky problem for the world".

All eyes were on President Donald Trump and North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-un on Monday, June 11, as the two leaders met in Singapore for a landmark summit to discuss nuclear disarmament.

The warm words and positive optics seemed a different era from when Trump was threatening to rain down "fire and fury" on Pyongyang and Kim attacked Trump as a "mentally deranged U.S. dotard", as he fired off a series of provocative weapons tests.

The White House said the daylong summit would also include a working lunch and a larger meeting involving aides to both leaders.

The U.S. delegation is composed of Secretary of State Pompeo, Chief of Staff John Kelly, and National Security Advisor John Bolton.

More officials took part in the working lunch, with the additional participants on the USA side, including White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, National Security Council Senior Director for Asia Matt Pottinger, and senior diplomat Sung Kim, who has led substantive talks with Pyongyang into the summit.

This honestly sounds so fucking nuts that there's no way it could possibly be true but, trust me, I have just checked a whole bunch of different places and it sure seems like it is: Donald Trump had a fake movie trailer made up so he could show Kim Jong-un how sick peace would be. "In fact, the only thing we know they signed was a declaration of friendship - for real". "We will meet many times".

Trump showed the video to the gathered media ahead of his press conference and said he showed it to Kim.

"We're starting that process", Trump said in response to a question about denuclearisation, adding that it would start "very quickly". I thought it was good, I thought it was interesting enough to show, one in English and one in Korean.
