First official screenshots for Cyberpunk 2077 released

13 June 2018

It's gone, replaced with a futuristic hell-hole.

CD Projekt Red also noted that the studio will now be "significantly more open" about the development of the game and although we do not know the precise release date, we now expect more timely updates. However, thanks to IGN and various tweets from Game Informer, we're now able to update with new information that is being shown at the Cyberpunk 2077 presentation.

After many years of silence, CD Projekt Red recently unveiled their much-anticipated sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077, at the very end of Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference.

The game - which adopts a first-person perspective - has a bullet-time effect.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person RPG that allows you to create your own character called V. The character creation system looks extremely comprehensive and it seems like you'll be able to truly craft the cyberpunk you always dreamed you would be. Both Male and Female completely voiced. As explained by the developer, players will "experience all of it entirely through V's eyes", which is a reference to the title being in first-person. Backstory and interactions shape V's personality.

Go Anywhere, Do Anything - Cyberpunk 2077 is fully open-world, which means Night City is yours for the taking - if you're prepared. Speaking to Eurogamer, Mills insists that Cyberpunk 2077 is "a purely single-player game", but only "at launch".

Story and quest system will be similar to the Witcher 3.

In a world where you have no future, what matters is that you control who you are. The story will be personalized by each choice you make.

Combat - Ranged combat and Melee combat.

Three types of weaponry: tech weapons, power weapons, and smart weapons.

6 unique districts in the city. During missions, you'll clash with hostile netrunners defending corporate megabuildings - both in cyberspace and in the real world.

Vehicles - Motorcycles, Cars, hinted at flying cars. V can scale walls using Mantis Blades to get a new vantage point (or use them to carve up your enemies like the turkeys they are).

In Cyberpunk 2077, player exploration will only be gated by their "street cred", a number that determines which areas you'll have access to, among other things.
