Biggest announcements from EA at E3 ft. Federation Internationale de Football Association 19, Anthem and more

12 June 2018

Fans can tune in to watch the EA Play conference on June 9 on the EA website, or you can catch all the action on Twitch and Youtube. Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the final entry in Square Enix's origin trilogy, is out on September 14, so Square Enix is definitely going to make the game a big part of its press conference.

The big reveal from this segment, however, was the confirmation of a Battlefield V battle royale mode. Some new gameplay changes introduced include diving and rolling through windows and also customisation of weapons and vehicles to make them a lot better.

So that is it for the first briefing of E3 2018 - a short if solid showing from EA. See https://www.ea.com/games/anthem/pre-order-disclaimer for details. This year Federation Internationale de Football Association 19 will get a fully licenced Championship League, Europa League and Super Cup which means all the above tournaments will be available in every game modes such as Career Mode, Ultimate Team Mode and The Journey Mode. Moreover, there will be no "pay-for-power" advantages in-game.

Anthem also marks the return of Casey Hudson, formerly the director of the Mass Effect trilogy, to Bioware, and his imprint seems to be evident on the game's development.

So outside of the release date, what else do we know? The first game announced for this program was Josef Fares' A Way Out, released earlier this year. More so when you consider that EA doesn't really have any big games slated for that time of the year. The game will also have an update that adds new content for the upcoming Han Solo season, as well as an all new "Starfighter Assault" mode. The Clone Wars will be coming to the game too, with iconic prequel-era characters like General Grievous, Count Dooku, and Anakin Skywalker finally making their way to Battlefront 2.

Essentially gamers will be able to buy skins to customize their Javelin mechs and likely their weapons as well. Set on an unfinished world, abandoned by the Gods, players must wear powerful Javelin exosuits to survive. The game can be played in co-op with each player controlling a character each or in single player where we'll have the ability to switch between them as we traverse the levels. BioWare announced that Anthem will release on February 22, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

This time around the emphasis is on co-operation with Yarny joining forces with a new blue friend to traverse the diverse and handsome levels and overcome the many puzzles.

Another completely new game, Sea of Solitude catches the eye for its slightly creepy premise and appearance. While the specifics of the gameplay have yet to be ironed out, it looks to be a sea-based game telling an emotional story about how loneliness can turn people into monsters.
