Digby's Relay for Life is scheduled for June 16 at the Digby arena and Yarmouth will have its Relay for Life June 23 at the Mariners Centre.

Her mother and two of her sisters are breast cancer survivors, like Phillips, who beat the disease in 2006.
The event is organized by the American Cancer Society. Teams must have one participant on the track at all times. Last year, she raised over $5,000. The first lap was walked by cancer survivors.

Relay Co-Chair Tracy Holsworth Broomer is hoping to make the ceremonies even more impactful by welcoming a dad, husband, friend, co-worker, neighbor, or a special someone to share their survivor or caregiver story at the Relay's Opening Ceremony.
"(Survivors are) the reason why we plan this event", Zeller said. "It's an honour to be the face of Relay and I'm happy to help others".
The Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life takes place at Clearwater Arena Park, 1400 Wellington St., on June 15, from 6 p.m.to 12 a.m. I had someone who invited me.
