WWE Raw Likely To Stay On USA Network

17 May 2018

And if it is Raw on United States of America and SmackDown on Fox broadcast television, the question then might become whether WWE decides to elevate SmackDown to being the unofficial "A" show. It was a match made in heaven with both shows airing every Monday and Tuesday night on the network's USA TV channel. WWE has previously stated that their new television deal will be announced sometime between now and September. Fox has been speculated as a home for Smackdown, sources say. It was noted that a new deal for RAW would be worth three times the current value, which would open up Smackdown moving to a new network.

According to Matthew Beloni, Editorial Director of The Hollywood Reporter, Raw would be remaining on the USA Network and getting as much as three times its current rate from the cable network, but NBC intends to let SmackDown Live go. NBCU had paid $30 million for the SmackDown franchise in 2010. Initially airing on SyFy, they moved SD to United States of America full time in January 2016, but while it now boasts the sixth biggest audience among original cable shows, the blue brand will likely be ditched in favour of keeping Raw.
