Amber Alert Issued By Tulsa Police For Missing 7-Year-Old

16 May 2018

Tulsa police announced early Tuesday afternoon that Taheerah Ahmad was arrested, almost 18 hours after she fled her home with her 7-year-old daughter, Hasfa Hayle - who also goes by Hafsa Hussein. Hafza was last seen wearing an ankle-length peach dress and is described to be wearing a puffy ponytail and gold bracelets on her wrist.

The 39-year-old is believed to be on the run with her youngest daughter Hafsa Hayle.

According to tweets from Tulsa police, the department believes Ahmad took Hafza in a black 2005 Lexus RX300 SUV crossover, which they say might have paper plates.

She is accused of stabbing her 11-year-old daughter and setting her house on fire.

Law enforcement said Hailey's mother Ahmad duct taped and gagged her three children.

"The story that we received was that the 7-year-old helped the 9-year-old escape the residence", a police spokesperson told reporters Monday.

At some point, her two youngest daughters were able to escape their home - just as Ahmad started stabbing her eldest child repeatedly, police told the Tulsa World. The eldest child is in critical condition.

"Ahmad is described as a 6'0" tall white woman who weighs around 190 pounds, with curly black hair that has gold streaks in it.

Tulsa Police said they found the woman in her vehicle near downtown Tulsa.

She said she broke free to call for help, but her mother had already fled the scene with her 7-year-old sister, Hafsa, by the time help arrived, according to police.

The aunt went to the house where she discovered the stabbed girl and a fire burning in the kitchen, which she put out, police said.
