WWE women and Triple H at the NBC Upfront presentation

According to WWE.com, Jax shockingly named Rousey as her next challenger at the NBCUniversal upfronts in New York City's Radio City Music Hall.

Less than six months since making her debut as a professional wrestler, Ronda Rousey will be competing for her first championship, the WWE announced on Monday. Her only match was a mix-tag contest at this year's WrestleMania, teaming with Kurt Angle against Triple H and wife Stephanie McMahon.

From those perspectives, having Rousey not just face Jax, but win as well, would be a smart move and could set up a possible main event-caliber match at WWE's "SummerSlam" event in August. The match was made after Jax challenged Rousey during a joint E!

Since Jax is the RAW Women's Champion, it's hard not to believe that the title won't be on the line. "Let's see how Rowdy @RondaRousey can get", Jax wrote. Plus while it may seem like a sprint on the company's behalf to get a championship on Rousey ahead of her rumored dream match way down the road at WrestleMania 35 against Charlotte Flair, there's always a chance the match gets thrown out due to interference. "All bets are off, right?"

WWE is giving Ronda Rousey a title shot at the upcoming Money In The Bank PPV on June 17 in Chicago. We all have the same goals.

This will be Rousey's first singles match on television. I'm very intrigued by how WWE will build this up and how the match will go.

It's safe to speculate there are other motivations for capitalizing on Rousey's star power and abruptly putting her in such a high-profile match - one that will have to be carefully crafted for both babyfaces to come out looking strong.
