Police told ABC News that when they visited the home Sunday, they had to force their way inside - where they found the bodies of Vi Lawhorn and Gaines, 22. Upon arrival, officers forced entry into a home where they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds to the head.
PREVIOUS STORY: The search continues Monday for Casey Lawhorn, the man suspected of killing his mother and a friend Sunday in East Ridge. When he allegedly fired the last fatal shots, the post says he went into the living room and "felt nothing" as he took drugs and cash from his friend's dead body.
Police found Lawhorn's broken-down gold 2002 Ford Taurus on Sunday while searching for him, according to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office. His empty auto was along Interstate 59.
The Dade County Sheriff's Workplace wrote on Fb that Lawhorn, after getting fuel in Dade County round 5:30 early Sunday, was believed to be driving south towards Georgia and did not keep within the space.More news: Watch all the debuts and returns from the RAW after WrestleMania
According to Sheriff Randy Johnson, a body was found in the Vossburg, Mississippi area. Police have identified the second victim as 22-year-old Avery Gaines of Ringgold, Georgia.
Casey James Lawhorn, 23, was found dead about 100 yards from spot where his auto was found abandoned Sunday on Interstate 59.
He said in the posts he shot at her twice more before it was over and then he took money and heroin from Gaines.
Lawhorn wrote about suicide and seemed to have no remorse for the slayings saying, "I've spent a lot of time thinking about murder, wondering what it feels like", he wrote. "If you want to help him in this insanely hard time I'm putting him through, actually do something, don't just think about it".More news: Fire at Trump Tower in NY leaves one dead
In the same post, Lawhorn added he walked into his mother's room where he attempted to shoot her, but the gun jammed. "Nothing anyone has or hasn't done to me caused this, my decisions and my failures are my own".
The post stated that he left the room momentarily to fix the weapon, and then returned. "Movies really don't do justice to how true terror sounds", he said.
"The suspect called us and identified himself and talked to our dispatchers for some time", Allen said, noting that Lawhorn directed cops to the location of the purported double murder scene. "I didn't want me mom to suffer, to die in horror, to die with the knowledge that her son did it", the post reads.
