HBO orders Nicole Kidman limited series The Undoing

13 March 2018

"We're thrilled to continue our creative relationships with both Nicole and David", said Casey Bloys, president of HBO programming, "and can't wait to bring this show to life". Kidman will again star and executive produce with Per Saari for Blossom Films while Kelley will write and executive produce. She'll have to rebuild her life in the wake of the revelations.

USA cablenet HBO has ordered a miniseries from Nicole Kidman and two other key players behind its hit drama Big Little Lies.

Nicole's new role will see her play Grace Sachs, a happy wife and mother who's on the brink of publishing her first novel. All three will also be executive producers on The Undoing.

"David has created another propulsive series with a fascinating, complicated female role at its center", Kidman said in a statement. "I'm excited and honoured to continue collaborating with HBO and David E Kelley".

The Undoing will star Kidman as a successful therapist whose flawless life is plunged into disarray after a violent death and her husband's disappearance.

A search for a director for the miniseries is underway. Papandrea will exec produce via her Made Up Stories banner.

It comes after it was revealed that "Big Little Lies" is set to get a second series. Witherspoon teamed with Kerry Washington to topline and executive produce Little Fires Everywhere, which just landed at Hulu with an eight-episode straight-to-series order.

Kelley is repped by CAA and Michael Gendler; Blossom Films is with CAA and Alan Werthheimer; Papandrea is with WME.

Whilst Kelley added: "I loved this book".
