PM Modi delivers keynote address in UAE

The temple, which will be built in stone, will come up off the Dubai-Abu Dhabi highway over 55,000 square meters of land.

Mr Modi said, the world is our stage and millions of Indians are progressing to new heights.

The agreement awarding the consortium of Indian oil companies - led by ONGC - a 10 per cent stake in Abu Dhabi's offshore Lower Zakum field was signed on Sunday in the presence of Modi and the Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He said that Indian and Omani authorities are constantly in touch with each other for addressing grievances of Indians in the Gulf country. The Prime Minister thanked Gulf countries for providing 30 lakh Indians a home-like environment, away from home.

Saying that Palestinians were ready to engage in dialogue, Abbas said he was counting on India's support for negotiations between Israel and Palestine. From there he visited UAE and arrived in Oman on Sunday afternoon.

"It is a matter of pride for not only me but also the 125 crore people of India that I have been called as the chief guest at the World Government Summit", PM Modi said.

India and Oman have thriving links rooted in centuries-old people-to-people exchanges, Modi said.

PM Narendra Modi meets Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov.

He laid the foundation stone for the BAPS Swaminarayan temple via video conferencing from the Dubai Opera House, where he addressed the members of the Indian community.

The structure will incorporate all aspects and features of a traditional Hindu temple, reported NDTV. Earlier in the day, Modi paid tributes at the UAE war memorial Wahat Al Karama near Abu Dhabi.
