Anthony Scaramucci If Kelly Lied About Porter ... He's Gotta Go

12 February 2018

Porter resigned last week after 2 former wives said he abused them.

Now, Jennie Willoughby, the second ex-wife of Porter's and a former school teacher, has responded to the President's denial in a powerful essay for Time.

"The president tells me he learned when the rest of us did", she said, "the pictures, the police reports, the information provided to the Federal Bureau of Investigation".

"I was floored. What was his intent in emphasizing that point?" My friend turned to me and said, 'The President of the United States just called you a liar.' Yes.

Willoughby also took Trump to task for a tweet in which he suggested that Porter's life and career were being "shattered and destroyed" over unproven allegations.

And she criticized political opponents who, she said, were attempting to conflate the Rob Porter issue with the MeToo! movement.

"(She) rushed out, and did what she does so often, said things that have no connection to the truth", Scarborough said. "And I think that he believes that the resignation was appropriate".

"Society as a whole has a fear of addressing our worst secrets".

This is not tied to "power, or money, or an old boys' club", she wrote. It is deeper than that, ' she said. "That abuse is something to be questioned and doubted".

Despite reports and social media accounts documenting violence perpetrated mostly by white supremacists, and not anti-racism counter-protesters, Trump argued to consider actions on "both sides".

Trump senior advisor Kellyanne Conway speaks about the firing of FBI Director James Comey at the White House in Washington, U.S., May 10, 2017.

Once photos emerged showing Porter's ex-wife with a black eye, Mulvaney said, "he was gone nearly immediately".

Porter, a key White House aide, left the administration on Wednesday after two ex-wives accused him of physical abuse.

Mr. Porter has denied the accusations.

Trump has been privately complaining about Kelly and wondering whether to replace him, according to two sources familiar with the matter. "He has said this in the past about incidents that relate to him as well". And, you know, you have to look at him also. Moore, you may remember, gave a very weak half-denial of numerous claims against him in a disastrous interview with Sean Hannity and ultimately lost the election. He said very strongly yesterday that he's innocent'.

Kelly has come under fire since the allegations against Rob Porter surfaced.

The allegations delayed Porter's ability to get permanent clearance. He did a very good job in the White House.

The timeline of who knew what, and when, is still in question in relation to Porter's abuse allegations.

Willoughby also says she disclosed the abuse to the Federal Bureau of Investigation as they reviewed Porter for a potential security clearance - a clearance that the New York Times says was reportedly delayed due to claims from both women - and there have been conflicting reports as to who in the administration knew about Porter's past and when.
