Mario Tennis Aces Announced for Nintendo Switch

Okay, so let's just go ahead and rip the band-aid right off and get the most obvious one out of the way first.

Demos!Kirby: Battle Royale and Dragon Quest Builders both have demos now live on the Nintendo e-Shop today.

Nintendo finalized their video by announcing Dark Souls will be remastered and brought to the Nintendo Switch on May 25th. In addition to a new chapter of the Mario Tennis series, it's also releasing action RPG The World Ends with You: Final Remix, JRPG Ys VIII, fighting game SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, and Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze. And not just the classics, 3DS, Wii, and Wii U games either. The groovy surfer known as Funky Kong can double jump, hover, perform infinite rolls and even perform infinite underwater corkscrews.

"The Switch's success rests on some first-party franchise games of fantastic quality, improved relations with third-parties, and a well-executed vision for creating a platform that straddles TV and handheld gaming", noted IHS Markit's Bailey.

The four-player co-op shooter will see players band together to execute elaborate heists and get paid.

Mario Tennis Aces, meanwhile, will be available on Nintendo Switch this spring.

No official date is kicking around yet but straight from the mouth of Nintendo themselves, we can expect the new game sometime this coming spring.

New outfits from Breath of the Wild for Link and Zelda will be included.

We also get a new Kirby game with Kirby Star Allies.

During a surprise Nintendo Direct mini presentation earlier this morning, Nintendo announced new games, ports and DLC for its the Switch console. Nintendo says the mode will add "a variety of missions, boss battles and more". The first one is called the Hide It mode, which tasks players to find the ideal, stealthiest place to hide a balloon in just 30 seconds.

Super Mario Odyssey updateSuper Mario Odyssey is getting an update that will see Luigi sending you into various balloon-centric competitive modes. The Direct also includes details on updates for Super Mario Odyssey, Mario & Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, and Pokken Tournament. The newest DLC will include a new story mode that finally includes Donkey Kong properly into the story. This mini-game will be available after you finish the main game. Aegislash can change between two formes, and players can wield them both. Wave 1 will be available January 31, and Wave 2 is scheduled for March 23.
