European security and North Korea will be the main talking points at a meeting of Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski and other NATO foreign ministers in Brussels on Tuesday.

Stoltenberg said that NATO is grateful for Georgia's many contributions to Euro-Atlantic security, especially the service of the highly-skilled men and women of the Georgian military. Secretary General Stoltenberg stressed that successive rounds of enlargement have secured peace in Europe and supported European integration.

NATO-Georgia Commission meeting has been held in Brussels, within the alliance's foreign ministerial, which was described as "very constructive" by NATO's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

"We are in confrontation with Russian Federation because of its aggressive actions in Ukraine", the NATO Secretary General noted.

"Our Joint Training and Evaluation Center in Georgia is up and running, and the NATO-funded Defense Institution Building School in Georgia has already trained around a thousand soldiers in subjects as diverse as the rule of law in armed conflict, hybrid warfare, and cybersecurity", he added.

The move follows Nato's announcement in February that it was stepping up its air and maritime presence in the Black Sea, as part of deterrence measures following the Kremlin's annexation of Crimea in 2014.

"In other words, NATO's support to Georgia is concrete and is making a real difference", he said.

The foreign ministers will discuss the alliance's goal of projecting stability and fighting terrorism, he said, noting progress in the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. "I expect we will agree to take NATO-EU cooperation to a new level", he added.
