Hornets' Steve Clifford Takes Leave Of Absence To Address Health

Charlotte Hornets head coach Steve Clifford is expected to be away from the team indefinitely as he is dealing with health concerns, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

Associate head coach Stephen Silas, as he did during Monday's win over Orlando, will take over as head coach during Clifford's absence.

The Hornets beat the Magic 104-94 to snap a four-game losing streak.

This is a great opportunity for Silas, who may be in line for a head coaching job soon, but it obviously comes under unfortunate circumstances. Silas has been in the league as a scout or assistant coach since 1999, and has served as an assistant with the Hornets since 2010. "There is definitely a little anxiety right now, because it is new, but once it starts, I know I have done it before".
