PDP chairmanship: Bode George advocates micro zoning, equity

14 November 2017

Former National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Chief Ishola Filani; governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Ambassador Dare Bejide and factional National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, urged party leaders and members to support the Southwest to produce the next PDP National Chairman.

"All other aspirants, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Senator Biodun Olujimi, Ambassador Dare Bejide, Bisi Omoyeni and myself are all working together to ensure that there is no imposition of any candidate in PDP in this state".

"This is to complicate issues among the south and make Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike unfairly positioned to impose a National Chairman of his choice".

"After the zoning principle, all the aspirants have agreed to work together to come up with a common position". He had been going about not even as an elected national chairman with full tenure but much more ridiculously like a sole administrator with timeless tenure under the disguise of solving one problem or the other. He has been campaigning day and night across the six zones, selling our redemption messages to PDP delegates, urging all aspirants to get ready for the convention and stop games of distractions. "We are leaving Enugu believing that we will take power at the centre in 2019".

Ajayi insisted that there must be a free, fair, credible and transparent primary election from where the party's flag bearer for the 2018 governorship race will emerge.

"We have equally agreed, believing we have all that it takes to take over Anambra and I believe that our people in Anambra, the Anambrarians have worked very hard, so they deserve victory". It should not only be credible but seen to be credible.

"I want to believe that Nigeria is of age to conduct elections that will be acceptable at home and overseas, and we want to believe that we will take the day on the 18th of this month in the Anambra governorship election", he said.

Bejide said: "That (supporting Secondus) is uncharitable, the party leadership from the Southwest is clamouring for the national chairmanship of the party".

Chief George praised the PDP founding fathers for their originality and wisdom as established in the zonal balancing, noting that his 10 years service at the National Secretariat has adequately prepared him for the job of the National Chairman.

Others included former governor of Ogun State, Chief Gbenga Daniel, a former PDP governorship candidate in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje and Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

Buruji in a statement also alleged that Makarfi was disorganizing the party in the South West for the sake of his own presidential ambition in 2019.
