Falcons likely to play without top RB Devonta Freeman vs. Seahawks

14 November 2017

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter, Freeman is "unlikely to play" in Week 11 after suffering his second concussion of the season on Sunday against the Cowboys.

The Falcons played the Carolina Panthers in Week 9, and Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis immediately suggested Freeman's concussion on Sunday was not a new injury via a since-deleted tweet. On top of that, the increased attention toward player safety only further complicates the situation for Freeman.

Freeman, 25, left in the first quarter after being hit by Cowboys linebacker Anthony Hitchens.

Though noticeably woozy following the hit, Freeman walked to the locker room under his own power before he was ruled out when the concussion was diagnosed. Prior to the win, Atlanta had lost four of its previous five games. nMatt Ryan and company will take on the Seahawks next Monday at 8:30 p.m. Freeman had two other reported concussions in his career - one this preseason and one in November 2015.
