Salvation Army offers one more chance to apply for Christmas assistance

Zanesville, Ohio- Yesterday, members of The Salvation Army gathered together to host their annual Red Kettle holiday fundraiser. Volunteer bell ringers will be collecting donations through December 31, and the money raised will assist families in Marion, Ralls, Lewis, Monroe and Shelby counties with utilities, rent, medicine and transportation.

Interested individuals can select a wish list from the Christmas tree set up in the Post Oak Mall food court in College Station. All proceeds benefit The Salvation Army's Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts.

Every year, 13abc teams up with the Salvation Army and the U.S. Marine Corps for the annual Hope for the Holidays campaign. Bell-ringers will be stationed outside local businesses through December 24 as part of the organization's main fundraising event of the year. The funds also will support the Salvation Army food pantry and be used to provide children with toys on Christmas. Carmen Campbell, corps officer of the Auburn Salvation Army center, said in a news release. If so, while you're there, you can help make a child's Christmas special.
