The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1-Chevy's latest contender in the battle for performance supremacy-is finally here after months of teases and leaks. The ZR1 makes its debut with the Sebring Orange Design Package.
In 2015 American publication vehicle and Driver published spy photos of a Holden Commodore Ute that it claimed was being used as a test mule for the new mid-engine Corvette.
But the ZR1 isn't just about grunt, the Chevrolet engineers have tuned every element of the auto for maximum performance. This upgrade installed racing-grade suspension, braking, and cooling components, along with a heavy-duty 4-speed manual transmission. Y'know, stuff like air conditioning and power windows. The sticker price was nearly $60,000, a fortune then.and now. According to Chevrolet, the 2019 Corvette ZR1 tips the scales at 3,524 lb. It's a 6.2-litre Eaton-supercharged cast-aluminium V8. The final edition of this version of the ZR1 rolled off the assembly line in 2013. Chevy will also offer heated and vented Napa leather seats, as well as a carbon fiber-trimmed steering wheel, competition sport seats, Performance Data Recorder, Bose premium audio system and more.More news: Short Interest in Noble Midstream Partners LP (NBLX) Drops By 40.2%

A rear low wing is standard (this one helps achieve the highest top speed) while a High Wing (two-way adjustable) can be specified for those who are after high downforce on the track. An Available ZTK Performance Package adds a taller, 2-way adjustable stanchion-mounted rear wing that supplies significant additional downforce without introducing aerodynamic drag. And two rear wing styles are available, each tied directly to the car's chassis as in the Corvette C7.R racing auto.
The new Corvette ZR1 was revealed in Dubai and wouldn't look out of place on the Le Mans starting grid thanks to its huge racing-style rear wing. Michelin Pilot Super Sport run-flats are also standard, sized P285/30ZR19 in front and P335/25ZR20 in back.
We have been waiting for months to see what GM had up its sleeve for the ultimate Corvette that would receive the ZR1 moniker, and we finally got a good look at it when a Road & Track cover accidentally revealed a few images and details of the auto.More news: The Spice Girls reportedly set for 2018 reunion and new album
Speaking of options, Chevrolet will offer a Sebring Orange Design Package that includes a Sebring Orange exterior with orange brake calipers and orange accents. The auto is still available with standard leather-trimmed seats, with suede microfiber inserts as an option. Pricing has not yet been announced but expect a six-digit figure. "Its unprecedented performance puts all other global supercars on notice that the ZR1 is back". In this respect, then, the auto remains the bargain that the Corvette has always been, while at the same time reasserting itself as America's definitive sports car*.
