When the doctor realized her daughter had recorded his temper tantrum, he grabbed the phone from her hand and began walking away.
Jessica Stipe initially posted the one-minute video on her Facebook page on Monday night after she said the doctor yelled at her when she complained she had been waiting at the Gainesville After Hours Clinic, 926 NW 13th St., for an hour and 15 minutes. Stipe claimed the doctor also shoved her daughter.
Gainesville After-Hours Clinic has yet to comment on the ordeal.
That's when she made a decision to confront her doctor, at about 7:45 p.m., she wrote, in an argument that quickly escalated and allegedly resulted in her daughter getting shoved.
"Are you kidding me?" the doctor asks, his voice raised. "You know this was uncalled for & for those of you who don't and are being rude and hateful to me and my child". "I got seven rooms back there". By 7:45 was not seen still in severe pain and throwing up in the trash can.More news: Auburn hires law firm to investigate academic misconduct allegations
"What you saw is what it was", Stipe added.
A Florida doctor who was caught on video telling a woman Monday to "get the hell out" after she questioned her wait time is under criminal investigation. She asked for her $80 copayment back. She says she doesn't know how long that takes. She says she wants to go home and get in bed.
"Then fine. Get the hell out", he said. "Get your money and get the hell out".
Meanwhile, the doctor in the video, Dr. Peter Gallogly, released a statement, saying, "Ms. Stipe had been increasingly belligerent and abusive to the office staff, cursing and threatening them with violence, because she was unwell and had been waiting to see me for more than an hour".
Stipe asked for her copay to be refunded so she could go to a different clinic the next day "because I'm just that miserable that all I want is my bed".More news: Stock In Spotlight: Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. (NYSE:AXTA)
"Get the f-- out of my office", he screams, as Stipe's daughter tells the doctor to get away from her mom.
Although Stipe said police said they would not file charges, they told the New York Daily News that they are "investigating" the incident. The doctor holds the daughter open for them to leave.
According to Gallogly, his office gave Stipe her refund; however, she refused to leave, which is why things escalated so quickly.
Stipe told CBS 4 that she believes he tried to delete the video and then threw the phone back at her.More news: Important Factors to Analyse A Good Investment: Oracle Corporation (NYSE: ORCL)
