Linkin Park Reveal Chester Bennington Fan Tribute Event Plans

24 August 2017

Rock band Linkin Park has announced that they will soon organise a special public event in the memory of lead vocalist Chester Bennington. Bennington committed suicide by hanging himself in his new California home last month (Jul17).

Posting a statement on social media, the band members wrote: "Just wanted to say thank you to all our fans around the world for the tremendous outpouring of love, which has strengthened our spirit during this incredibly hard time". It's hard to discern exactly what Farrell means when he says "build the future of Linkin Park", but it's easy to take it as though the band might carry on without Bennington? However, the band did issue a statement in which they discussed their "grief and denial" while reminiscing about their time with the singer.

"We're trying to remind ourselves that the demons who took you away from us were always part of the deal. Until we see you again".

In the wake of Bennington's suicide in July, Linkin Park established an official tribute website, where fans can post notes personal tributes to the late frontman.

Linkin Park as a band had the ability to cross genres, and that's exactly what happened when the rap-rockers teamed up with Jay-Z back in 2004 to release the mashup EP "Collision Course".
