Disney's hit 2013 animated movie Frozen is making the jump from the big screen to the stage - and from the first-look footage released Monday, it appears the cast and creators are pulling out all the stops!

Based on the blockbuster movie, "Frozen" was adapted to the stage by the husband-and-wife songwriting team of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

Today we get an early look, filmed in NY during summer rehearsals, at the cast and crew of "Frozen" interacting as they plan for their trip to Denver to work out the kinks. Schumacher knew it was a prime property for Disney Theatrical Productions in very early days. Chief among these is the theme song "Let It Go", which won an Oscar and Grammy and reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. "I couldn't believe what I was looking at on the screen was a flawless Broadway musical", he said.

Book and original screenwriter Jennifer Lee echoes this thought saying that watching rehearsals has made her realize "this is exactly what Frozen was made for".

The show premieres in a tryout engagement at the Buell Theater in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, running August 17 through October 1, ahead of its Broadway bow in spring 2018 at the St. James Theatre. In fact, there will be so much music, the Broadway play will feature twice the amount of songs as the animated movie as the story extends beyond the movie's boundaries.
