Is Donald Trump Under Investigation for Obstruction of Justice?

20 June 2017

In testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, Rosenstein pledged that Mueller would maintain his independence and said he would not follow orders to fire the special counsel unless he believes "those are lawful and appropriate orders".

It's not that Trump is ignorant of the protocols and customs which rule the wink and nod environment of Washington, D.C. He's aware of them; he just doesn't give a damn about them.

After Chris Wallace pointed out that he just said Donald Trump is under investigation (twice), Sekulow clapped back with this pathetic response (emphasis mine).

A USA official who is familiar with the rough outlines of the probe and who spoke on condition of anonymity told Reuters on Thursday that Mueller was also examining whether Trump or others tried to interfere with the investigation. There's hype galore online this morning that this report contradicts WaPo's bombshell last week (confirmed yesterday by USA Today) that Mueller is investigating Trump. Gorelick urged Kushner to consider choosing someone else to represent him at first, The Times reported.

The two were formerly law partners at Washington firm WilmerHale. Attention is focused on the question of obstruction simply because so much of Trumps campaign to deep-six the investigation has been conducted openly, at full volume.

The president has directed some of his frustration at Rosenstein and Mueller. Sen.

In a Trump Administration, he said America comes first and he will deal with the rest of the world from that perspective. (In fact, I had a positive experience dealing with Mike Flynn when he was a colleague as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency at the beginning of my term at Federal Bureau of Investigation.) I did not say I would "let this go".

"He's being investigated for taking the action that the attorney general and deputy attorney general recommended him to take by the agency who recommended the termination", Sekulow concluded.

On the same day, in Trump's hometown NY, a "Julius Ceaser production opened at an outdoor theatre in Central Park where Ceasar is played by a blonde in a suit and red tie, complete with a stabbing thrown in which sent the President's son Eric Trump into a sulk on Twitter".

A White House official said the senior aide and son-in-law to President Donald Trump will arrive on Wednesday for meetings in Jerusalem and Ramallah. It also sent a letter to Comey asking for any notes or memos.

Schiff says if the panel can't get an answer then he believes a subpoena will be needed. Sekulow had told Wallace twice in the interview that Trump was under investigation and then said he wasn't.

Trump advisers describe the president as increasingly angry over the investigation, yelling at television sets carrying coverage and insisting he is the target of a conspiracy.

Rubio is a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is doing its own probe into Russian election interference. Angus King, an independent from ME, stressed that the probe will likely last for a long time.

Rubio says: "If it involved working with Americans, whether wittingly or unwittingly, that needs to be part of" the investigation. He said it could be done "maybe by the end of the year". This is a very complex matter, involving thousands of pages of intelligence documents, lots of witnesses.

During a June 9 White House press conference, Trump teased reporters about the potential existence of the tapes, saying he would reveal whether or not they existed "over a fairly short period of time".
