'100 Percent' Would Testify Under Oath About Comey

13 June 2017

"Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication", Trump wrote, suggesting that Comey, who was under oath at the hearing, had committed perjury.

Mr Comey's testimony is certain to dominate the question-and-answer session when Mr Trump faces the press at the White House later on Friday in a joint news conference with Romania's president.

According to the report, the complaint will focus on Comey's testimony that he shared memos about his conversations with Trump with a friend, whom he also asked to pass the information to a reporter.

Under oath Thursday, Comey repeatedly called Trump a liar - Trump responded Friday by saying Comey was a liar.

President Donald Trump said Friday he is "100 percent" willing to speak under oath giving his version of interaction with former FBI Director James Comey. After Trump fired Comey, the Justice Department appointed Mueller, also a former FBI director, to oversee the investigation into whether Russian Federation coordinated with Trump campaign associates during the 2016 election.

Trump's assertion came after he branded Comey as a "leaker" and claimed "total and complete vindication" after ousted Federal Bureau of Investigation director's testimony before a Senate Committee.

"He's a leaker", Trump said during a White House news conference when asked about Comey's testimony. But Trump said - stay tuned.

TRUMP: I hardly know the man.

"I'll tell you about it over a very short period of time", Trump told reporters.

"Who would do that?". Still, he maintained he had never asked Comey for a pledge of allegiance. I mean, I will tell you, I didn't say that. "Think of that. I hardly know the man". "It doesn't make sense".

He said he refused on all points, told senators of the detailed memos he had written after his conversations with Mr Trump and said he hoped they were taped because he is confident of their veracity.

Comey said Thursday the president's tweet that said Comey "better hope that there are no "tapes" of their conversations had compelled him to share a memo he wrote.

The president and his lawyer have both said that the testimony served primarily as vindication that he - President Trump - wasn't being investigated for collusion with Russian Federation during the election.

The committee also sent a letter to Comey requesting he provide the committee any notes or memos in his possession regarding his discussions with Trump.
