Shopper wrestles deer that wandered into Minnesota Walmart

A deer that panicked inside a Minnesota Walmart was calmed by a shopper who wrestled the animal to the ground and gently held it down.

Then, she explained, the saw the deer sliding around on the smooth floor and Grasswick quickly pinning the animal against a bag of dog food.

Koljonen posted the photo of the deer whisperer covering the animal's eyes in an effort to keep it from resisting.

Koljonen said the deer apparently wandered in through the Garden Center's motion-sensor doors.

"It felt like i got slugged or something", Grasswick told WDAY-TV.

Grasswick covered the eyes of the startled deer and he and others managed to remove the animal and set it free outdoors.

Tom Grasswick, ironically from nearby Deer Creek, says he was just trying to save a few bucks when a little buck jumped right into the unsuspecting shopper. It was later carried outside and freed, according to the police, who added that neither the deer nor its human rescuers appeared hurt in the commotion.
