Thomas scored 53 points Tuesday night in helping the Boston Celtics reach a 2-0 series lead over the Washington Wizards.
Washington's Otto Porter Jr., left, breaks up a drive to the basket by Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas during Tuesday's playoff game in Boston.
Here are the Stars, Studs and Duds from Game 2 between Boston and Washington which ended with a 129-119 Celtics overtime win.
The Celtics missed five shots in a row and Washington responded with a 9-0 run for a 110-104 lead, but Thomas and Rozier answered with 3-pointers to pull Boston level again with 98 seconds remaining.
If Boston is going to shoot 40 three-pointers (and that's something they've clearly been going for dating back to the series against Chicago), then Washington has to at least make those shots hard to get off.More news: Will give my best in Champions Trophy: Mohammed Shami
Boston answered with a 14-4 run early in the fourth quarter, Thomas scoring nine points in the spurt and Bradley sinking a 3-pointer with 7:09 to play to give Boston its largest lead to that point at 102-99.
John Wall had 19 of his 40 points in the first quarter. Thomas scored 29 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, which nearly matched the Wizards as a team, who scored 30.
Thomas became just the fifth Celtic in franchise history to tally at least 50 points in a playoff game, and finished just one point shy of John Havlicek's team record of 54. Isaiah Thomas led the way with 33 points and nine assists, Jae Crowder drained six three-pointers on his way to 24 points, Al Horford added 21 points with nine rebounds and 10 assists while Avery Bradley chipped in with 18 points and four assists.
The series moves to Washington for Games 3 and 4.

"It was a hell of a basketball game", Wizards coach Scott Brooks said.
Somehow, Thomas has managed to not only play every game since, but lead the Celtics during the playoffs just as he did all regular season long prior. Late in the first, Wall had to shake it off after landing on a prone Kelly Olynyk.
Thomas banged his face on the court in the third and spent the next few minutes adjusting his teeth. "I don't know if he went back to the dentist's today or went to the hospital today just to work on it some more, but he's continued to have some work on it".
Thomas was fouled by Gortat with 14.4 to go and made both free throws to knot the score.
Thomas had 29 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, making up for the Wizards roasting him in the first and third quarters on defense. They combined for 20 assists but also combined for 11 turnovers. It was also a career best for Thomas in a playoff game.
