Warriors star likely to play Game 3 against Trail Blazers

22 April 2017

The Golden State Warriors officially list Kevin Durant as questionable for Wednesday night's Game 2 at home against Portland, but league sources tell ESPN that the Warriors are weighing whether to hold Durant out of the game as a precaution after he suffered a strained left calf in the second half of the Warriors' Game 1 victory. Durant will have five days to recover before Game 3, which takes place Saturday in Portland. He would go on to tie the Warriors' postseason record for most field goals made without a miss.

Reinjuring his knee isn't the concern with the high-minute totals, it's if his knee is not 100 percent, how does the rest of his body compensate for that loss?

Durant could miss Game 3, too, but of course this isn't anything new for the Warriors. "It's something that's kind of out of my control right now, just try to get better".

Washington Wizards guard John Wall (2) drives to the basket as Atlanta Hawks guard Dennis Schroder (17) chases in the fourth quarter in game two of the first round of the 2017 NBA Playoffs at Verizon Center.

The Trail Blazers wouldn't go away quietly, however, and would get themselves back in the game with a strong start to the second quarter.

Portland had no answer for playoff McGee, who appears to be a different beast than that of the regular season.

The Blazers will be without center Jusuf Nurkic, who has a fractured right leg. So, the final result of the Game 1 between Blazers vs Warriors is 109-121.

Clippers 99, Jazz 91 • Blake Griffin led a smash-mouth revival of Lob City with 24 points, DeAndre Jordan had a double-double and Los Angeles beat visiting Utah to even their playoff series at 1-1. He finished the night with 11 points on 4-for-17 shooting.

The Rockets erased a 15-point deficit to take a 2-0 lead after game two of their Western Conference series.

McGee's size is able to alter shots around the rim from Portland's small backcourt, in addition to his defense on the perimeter.

Coach Steve Kerr said Durant's injury happened in the game, when he had 32 points and 10 rebounds in his playoff debut with the Warriors.

So when McGee is in the game, he's free to cause problems all over the court. We feel like we have a very deep team, and we needed that tonight. "We won nearly by 30 points without anyone having a huge game".

McGee wasn't the only reserve to make up for Durant's absence.

Paul Millsap's 27 points and 10 rebounds led the Hawks, who were up 78-74 entering the final quarter. Time and time again, knowing that buckets were a little harder to come by, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson, and even Curry and Patrick McCaw stayed in front of their own man, not allowing the drive-and-kick flow offense of the Blazers get started downhill. It seems that the Blazers can survive good games from the scoring stars of Golden State.

Curry went 6 for 18 for 19 points and also had six assists and six rebounds.

Wall and Beal are the first Washington combo to each score at least 30 points in a playoff game since Jeff Malone and Cliff Robinson in 1986.

Green already had six rebounds and six assists in the first quarter.
