Cavs take 3-0 lead

22 April 2017

Here is LeBron during the regular season.

No. 1 Golden State vs. But George couldn't keep pace with James and Cavaliers over the last two quarters. That's why they had the higher seed; they won more games, because they were the better team. Since the 2015 postseason, the Cavs hold a 27-4 playoff record against Eastern Conference opponents, which includes an 12-3 mark on the road. The next minute, they look like they forgot how to play basketball. Thaddeus Young was extremely efficient with his nine points, seven of which came in the first quarter. That's at least the opinion of Jeff Teague. The Wine & Gold has proven that it can lock down the other team's best scorers when it counts.

But if aliens came to the planet Earth and asked "What is LeBron James?".

James and the Heat won that series, which was the Eastern Conference Finals, in six games, before losing in five games to the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals. James is the only reason that Giannis Antetokounmpo isn't the best player in the East, and he's on his way to becoming the NBA's next superstar.

CLUE: Games played / years active. All they had to do was come out at the start of the second half against the Cavaliers and "put their foot on their throat". Last year, the same problem resulted in a first-round exit, courtesy of Toronto. The first half could not have gone much worse for the Cavs as they shot just 36.7 percent (18-for-49) while allowing IN to shoot 56.8 percent (25-for-44).

The 119-114 win for the Cavs extended their series lead to 3-0, and it ran James' personal winning streak over Teague to 11-0. His Game 3 performance against IN will probably not even make it to the first three pages of his career resume. The drama follows them in the postseason.

Isaiah Thomas is a terrific scorer, but the Celtics don't have that one player that gives them a chance to beat the NBA's elite teams in a series. In some ways, Chicago is the most risky opponent for Cleveland in the East.

But then one of the problems with LeBron coming of age in this era is that finding an appreciation equilibrium for his game and career is proving to be just about impossible. Unless you're name is LeBron James, it's hard to be great all the time, and this was the case for Irving and Love, who's energy level rivaled that of a regular-season game in mid February. They were out-rebounding, out-assisting and out-shooting Cleveland.

The Hawks have certainly had their share of success against the Cavs this season. If body language was any indication, as James scored 28 of his 41 points in the second half and as the Pacers walked off the court in disbelief, in looks like it could be starting its offseason sometime late Sunday afternoon.

The Pacers inside game gave them quite the advantage the Pacers out-rebounded Cleveland 52-40 which included 17 offensive rebounds for Indiana. This loss wasn't just any loss, it was demoralizing, losing that kind of lead at home when you were already so close to a win in Game 1.

Give the Pacers credit. Korver hit a trey to make it 108-104 and then James hit a trey with 2:50 to make it 111-107.
