North Korea exhibited its ballistic missiles and other military weaponry during a huge parade on Saturday to celebrate its founder's birthday.
A series of what appeared to be KN-08 missiles were among the weaponry rolled out on trucks.
USA aircraft carrier Carl Vinson, surrounded by a fleet of United States warships, was sent toward the Korean Peninsula in advance of this weekend's festivities in Pyongyang.

The move, coupled with the US retaliatory strikes last week against Syria over a chemical weapons attack on civilians, and the depoyment of a huge bomb against IS positions in Afghanistan earlier this week, touched off fear in South Korea that the United States was preparing for military action against the North.
China, whose foreign minister met his French counterpart in Beijing on Friday, has said it wants to cooperate with Russian Federation to calm tension over North Korea as quickly as possible and bring all parties to the negotiating table.
Weapons analysts said they believed some of the missiles on display at the military parade were new types of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM).
"The number one threat in the region continues to be North Korea, due to its reckless, irresponsible and destabilising programme of missile tests and pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability", Benham said.
The US claims it is ready to strike North Korea if nuclear weapons are tested.

Speaking to reporters, he called on all parties to refrain from provoking and threatening each other to avoid the situation reaching an "irreversible and unmanageable stage".
And as North Korea looks set to test launch another nuclear missile, senior USA intelligence sources claim Trump is prepared to launch a pre-emptive strike if the test goes ahead.

South Korean and US officials and the think tank have been saying for weeks that North Korea could test a sixth bomb at any time. Yesterday it warned the United States any provocation would be met with retaliation.
"Though analysts questioned what was inside the missile shells, they said the appearance of a submarine-launched ballistic missile shows North Korea is progressing with its plan to launch missiles from anywhere in the sea".
