Jazz's Gobert to miss Game 3 vs Clippers with knee injury

According to Utah Jazz's official update on Gobert's injury posted through NBA.com, the downed player was immediately examined by the team's medical staff on standby at the STAPLES Center during the game.

The Utah Jazz will again be without star center Rudy Gobert on Friday when they host the Los Angeles Clippers in game three of their National Basketball Association first-round playoff series.

"The situation, we're aware of it", head coach Quin Snyder said. I just don't think you get away from it. "We need to figure that out".

While elevating himself on defense to help prevent the Clippers from matching their 60 points in the paint in Game 2 will be key for Favors, of course it wouldn't hurt to see an uptick in his offensive production and rebounding as well. Jordan's tomahawk jam put an exclamation on the end of the period.

So far he has done admirably, logging 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting with six rebounds in Game 1 and 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting with seven rebounds in Game 2. It means our guards getting into the paint, and if they can get to the basket and score.

Redick has been hounded defensively by Jazz guard Joe Ingles, and while the Clippers would like to get Redick going offensively, Rivers said "we don't want to force it".

LA bullied and beat up Utah all night and held a 10-point lead through much of the contest that might as well have been 20.

The game never felt as close as it was, but give the Jazz credit, it was within reach.

However, while Gobert's absence has and will continue to cause each and every one of his teammates to have to elevate their game to a new level if Utah hopes to come out on top in the series, a significant amount of pressure, combined with an incredible opportunity, now faces Derrick Favors more than anybody else on the team. Paul finished with 21 points, ten rebounds and three steals.

Without Gobert to patrol the middle, the Clippers easily had their way. "We're excited to be there and hopefully they're all as rowdy and excited as Jazz fans will get". "Whether he can do that is another story", Snyder said.

"I'm just ready to get back to playing the way that I know how to play and am able to play", Favors said Thursday after practice.

Rivers said he knew the Clippers were giving up a future impact player.

Griffin took a page out of Paul's repertoire and buried a 3-pointer from the left corner, extending the Clippers' lead to 97-88 with 1:35 to play.

But the Jazz have decided that Gobert will not play until there is no chance of reinjuring his knee, which may take some time. Going back at home, they're going to be feeling good. Although, the 28 year-old shoots 48.2% from the free through line his defense and rim protection is valuable.

A driving Paul banked in a floater with 13 seconds to go, tying the game at 95. It's one game. It's nice that we won it. They're good at it. They were 44 of 84 from the field.

Johnson, who scored 21 points, was left isolated against Jamal Crawford on the final play.

DeRozan broke the tie with a jumper and, after missed 3-pointers by Malcolm Brogdon and Matthew Dellavedova, Tucker missed a pair of free throws. "We need to open it up a little bit".

As we all still remember, DeAndre Jordan and the Dallas Mavericks came to a verbal agreement to sign with Dallas. Look for the Vivant Smart Home Arena to be a hostile environment for the Clippers in Game 3.
